Turkey: Sick man's dog spends days waiting outside hospital; heartwarming pictures go viral

A pet dog spent days waiting outside a hospital in northern Turkey where her owner was receiving treatment. 

On January 14, the pet named Boncuk followed the ambulance that transported her owner, Cemal Senturk, to hospital in the Black Sea city of Trabzon, according to news agency DHA. Senturk's daughter, Aynur Egeli, said she would take Boncuk home but the dog would repeatedly run off to the hospital, AP reported citing DHA.

Muhammet Akdeniz, a security guard at the hospital where Senturk was being treated, told DHA: “She (the dog) comes every day around 9am and waits until nightfall. She doesn’t go in. When the door opens she pokes her head inside.”

After desperately waiting to meet her owner, Boncuk was finally reunited with Senturk on Wednesday.  “She’s very used to me. And I miss her too, constantly,” Senturk told DHA. The man has now been discharged from the hospital and returned home with his beloved pet.
