World's largest stadium, the Motera cricket stadium in Ahmedabad, has been renamed 'Narendra Modi' stadium. As soon as the news broke on Wednesday that the revamped stadium will be named after incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi, netizens have enjoyed a field day on social media platforms.
Some believe the stadium renaming shows the Prime Minister as narcissistic while others asked what was the difference between BJP and Congress. Some also said since PM Modi is involved in active politics, it is inappropriate to do such a thing, suggesting it would have been better to honour former cricketers such as Kapil Dev And Sunil Gavaskar instead.
Netizens also supported the Prime Minister and said that after serving so many years in public office, Modi deserves at least one stadium in his name. Some even defended the renaming on the grounds that there have been so many stadiums and airports under the Gandhi family name and it is only right that the stadium is named after PM Modi.
