Glenn Maxwell was procured by Royal Challengers Banglore for 14.25 crores
Glenn Maxwell was picked for a staggering INR 14.25 crore at the IPL 2021 bidding table in Chennai on Thursday. The Aussie was picked by Royal Challengers Banglore after a long bidding war with Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. Maxwell had a base price of ₹2 crores.
Though KKR gave up midway, RCB and CSK continued the intense bidding war. RCB, which has a total budget of INR 34.5 crores, spent 14.25 crores for Maxwell.
Chris Morris, whose base price was ₹75 lakh, was sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 16.25 crore. With this, Morris turned into the most expensive player in IPL history after being bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 16.25 crore. The previous record was held by Pat Cummins of Australia who was purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 15.5 crore.
