2014 movie Ek Villain's sequel EK Villain Returns now has a release date. The film will be featuring John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Tara Sutaria, and Disha Patani and will be hitting theatres on February 11, 2022.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, the film will be directed by Mohit Suri. Arjun Kapoor announced the news on his Instagram by sharing a poster of the movie. "Iss kahaani ka hero, villain hai! #EkVillainReturns, 11th Feb, 2022," wrote Arjun alongside the post. John shared the post with the same caption and Tara and Disha captioned the post as, "Aapko shikayat ka mauka nahi denge.. (we will not give you a chance to complain)."
Earlier, in an interview with Indian Express, Mohit Suri said, “In this film, the girls are also playing villains. Me and Ekta are trying to build on a whole series of villains and different characters, who are all connected to each other.”
As per reports, actor Aditya Roy Kapoor was earlier on board with the project but later quit due to creative disagreements between Mohit Suri and him. Mumbai Mirror quoted a source saying, “Adi was to sport multiple looks and had started working on his physique during the lockdown. But over the last month, there have been several creative disagreements between Mohit and him, following which they decided to part ways. The two used to be good friends once, but this has definitely affected the equation.”
