Here are 5 Bollywood couples that might get married in 2021 and give us major FOMO vibes.
2021 has just begun, and actor Varun Dhawan has already blessed our feeds with a Bollywood wedding, and we aren’t complaining. While Varun and his long time girlfriend Natasha have finally tied the know, they weren’t the only B-town couple whose wedding plans were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. With things gradually heading towards normalcy, a number of celebrity couples have a 2021 wedding on the cards.
Here are 5 Bollywood couples that might get married in 2021 and give us major FOMO vibes.
Ranbir-Alia
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding has been the talk of the town for quite some time now. Rumour has it that the couple had planned a 2020 wedding, but it was put on hold due to the pandemic and Ranbir’s father, late actor Rishi Kapoor’s demise. In an interview, Ranbir had confessed that he would have been married by the end of 2020 had the pandemic not hit our lives.
The duo made their relationship official in 2018 when they arrived as a couple at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception. Talking about Ranbir and Alia’s relationship, Mahesh Bhatt in an interview said, "Well, of course, they're in love. You don't need to be a genius to get that! I love Ranbir, he's a great guy. What they do to their relationship is something they'll have to figure out. Whether it's heading towards that port called 'marriage’, which is an institution that needs to be questioned in the second decade of the 21st century, is something for them to figure out. I'm no one to hazard a guess when that would happen or which way the relationship is going. It's life and life needs to be lived on its own terms. Let's wait and see what tomorrow brings for us!"
Arjun-Malaika
Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora made their relationship public last year and have been giving us a decent dose of PDA ever since. While fans speculated that the couple might be tying the knot in 2020, Arjun dismissed the rumours, hinting that the pandemic might have delayed the possible wedding bells. Talking about the wedding plans, Arjun in an interview with Bollywood Hungama said, "I will tell all of you all when I am getting married. There are no plans as of right now. Abhi shaadi hogi bhi toh kaise, agar karni bhi hogi (Even if we wanted to, how will it be possible now)?"
Shibani-Farhan Akhtar
Another Bollywood couple whom fans expected to tie the knot in 2020 is Farhan Akhtar and his girlfriend Shibani Dandekar. If their social media posts are anything to go by, the two are going strong and enjoyed spending time together during most of the lockdown. The two were said to have had planned a wedding for April 2020 but had to postpone it due to the lockdown. Farhan and Shibani are expected to get married in 2021 after over two years of dating.
Sushmita-Rohman
Sushmita Sen and Rohman Shawl have been together for about two years now and are head over heels in love. The two have never shied away from the public eye and have often posted mushy pictures over social media. Though the adorable couple is going strong, they managed to dodge all wedding rumours coming their way. When asked about the wedding, during an Instagram live session, Rohman said, "Pooch ke batate hain (We will ask and let you know.)" Sushmita Sen added, "Hum neighbour se pooch ke batate hain (We will consult the neighbour and let you know)."
Ali-Richa
Ali Fazal had proposed to Richa Chaddha in 2020 in the Maldives, and the wedding preparations for an April 2020 wedding were in place. However, due to the unfortunate turn of events, the couple had to postpone the wedding. The two had issued a statement in 2020 saying that they have postponed the wedding to the later half of 2020, and fans have been waiting for an update ever since. The statement released by their spokesperson to Mumbai Mirror said, "Given the current scenario and the unfortunate turn of events and the unfortunate turn of events owing to the COVID-19 pandemic globally, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have decided to postpone their wedding functions to the latter half of 2020 tentatively. They wish for everyone to be healthy and safe and at no cost would want their friends, families and well-wishers to be affected"
